It is important to stress that
this is a non-invasive treatment – there is no surgery
involved and therefore no associated scars, there are no
injections and no medications involved.
The system identifies the depth, density and thickness of
the patients fat layers. After doing so the algorithms in
the devices computer then calculates the optimal frequency
and intensity of ultrasound best suited for the individual
patient. The device continues these calculations in real
time so that as the density of the fat adjusts over the
treatment, the wavelength is correspondingly adjusted to
ensure optimum results. The wavelength of ultrasound applied
is selectively absorbed by the lipid molecules (fat) within
the adipose tissue (fat cells). The treatment beam
penetrates down as far as 3 inches so the treatment effect
is throughout the skin layers. The absorbed energy causes a
cellular resonance or vibration between the individual cells
and thereby generates several effects: fat is released from
the fat cells, the turgidity (pressure within and between
the cells) is reduced, blood circulation is increased
resulting in the increased flow of oxygen and nutrients to
the cells, and in toxins being removed via the improved
blood flow.
The results are a fundamental improvement of the structure
and aesthetic appearance of the skin layers-cellulite is
significantly reduced, stretch marks are minimized. Patients
notice a significant reduction in body circumference.
There is no downtime after a treatment, and no known side
effects to the treatment. Occaisionally there is a slight
redness to the skin in the treatment area, but this normally
diffuses 20 to 30 minutes after the treatment.
The BellaContour is an FDA approved device. It is also
certified to the EEC Medical Device Directive and has ISO
13485 2003 certification.
We are in the process
of developing a smaller probe that will allow us to treat the facial
area, but facial treatments are currently not available. |
